There is no need of elaborate means of knowledge. There should be steadfast faith that Guru alone is the protector and destroyer. 

I pledge that I would cross even the seven seas to help those who seek My protection.

Day and night I lovingly gazed into my Guru's face.

 

Day and night I lovingly gazed into my Guru's face. I knew no hunger, not thirst. Without the Guru the mind would go restless. 

Except my Guru, I could not meditate on anything else

 Except my Guru, I could not meditate on anything else, except him, I had no other objective. He alone was my constant goal. Truly, the skill of the Guru is simply marvelous!

He always protected me in my troubles.

 

I lovingly gaze at my Guru's face, my Guru expected only this. He desired nothing more than this. He never treated me with indifference or unconcern, but always protected me in my troubles.

He was looking after me very kindly.

Sometimes I was allowed to remain at my Guru's feet; sometimes, beyond the shores of the sea. But never did I lose the joy of his company. He was looking after me very kindly.

The innermost self is God himself and He who is God is also the Guru.

I felt like embracing the Guru

 Bonds which are undesirable were totally snapped and the bondage that obstructs spiritual inclination was severed. I felt like embracing the Guru, storing up his image in the eyes themselves

For the purpose of meditating upon the Guru.

 

All my sense organs, including the mind, had left their places and come to stay in my eyes alone, for the purpose of meditating upon the Guru.

I give them everything they need.

 There will never be any scarcity regarding food and clothes in my devotees home. I give them everything they need.
